Dr. Stan Salsberg graduated with his Doctorate of Optometry in 1970 from the University of Waterloo. He began the Eye Care Clinic with a dedication to improving patient eyecare and providing glasses and contact lenses for optimal eyesight for the past 45 years. Due to his enthusiasm for his work and commitment to his patients, he has grown the Eyes on Sheppard Eye Clinic from one doctor to a facility of 9 doctors all committed to continuing his legacy of patient care. He was a part time clinical Instructor at the University of Waterloo, a FDA Contact Lens Researcher, and previous Council member for the Ontario Association of Optometry. In his years of practice, he volunteered in Antigua, Grand Cayman and Moosenee for CUSO international, a development organization that works to reduce poverty and inequality to help those without access to basic eye care. He has been a mentor to many young graduates and foreign trained optometrist to give them Canadian experience and confidence in practice. He has recently retired from full time optometry but continues to consult companies with his experience in the optometric field and help the current Doctors of Optometry at the Eyes on Sheppard shape the practice.
In his spare time, Dr. Salsberg enjoys painting, collecting art and spending time with his lovely wife and seven grandchildren. He plays more golf than ever before.
